My future career is to be a lecturer. I want to be a lecturer because I can teach the subject that I am good and interested in. I can also pass on my knowledge to other people. The salary is also quite reasonable.
The job responsibilities of a lecturer teach and tutor in his/her area of specialization. He/She supervises students in their assignments, projects and practical work. A Lecturer also administers, evaluates and marks tests and examination papers. Research in his/her field of interest and the publication of such research material are part of a Lecturer's job. In addition, he/she may take on consultancy work or conduct seminars/workshops for outside agencies.
In order to qualify to become a lecturer, the minimum entry qualification in most disciplines is a Doctoral degree or equivalent. However, university honours graduates with outstanding academic records can start as senior tutor. For professional disciplines like Medicine, Dentistry and Law, you must have the basic academic qualification plus a relevant higher professional or academic qualification. The minimum entry qualification for teaching positions at polytechnics is a recognized university degree in the relevant discipline. Those with at least two years of relevant industrial experience, professional and postgraduate qualifications are preferred. You will also need to have personal qualities like interest in and love for the subject, a keen mind, ability to communicate the subject matter, understanding of students’ needs, ability to interact with students, interest in research and development and lastly, administrative skills.
In order to be able to get this job, I will study hard for O levels and focus more a subject which I like. Then I will proceed to polytechnic or junior college depending on which has the course that I want. Then I will go to university and study Bachelor first, then Master Degree and lastly PHD. The future career prospects of this job is, you start out as either a lecturer or senior lecturer then you can get promoted to principal lecturer. Next you can get promoted to associate professor and then lastly to professor. This is for polytechnics. For universities, you start out as either a lecturer with a PHD or without PHD then u can get promoted to senior lecturer. For lecturer with PHD, the pay is higher. Then from senior lecturer, you can get promoted to asst professor with a PHD or without a PHD. Then from asst professor, you can get promoted to associate professor and lastly, professor.
I have been trying to speak more English and revise the subject which I wanted to teach. I will also try my best to get good results for other subjects but my main focus will be on the subject which I wanted to teach. (462 words)

School Rules - what are my views on it.
Students have been unhappy about school rules because most of the school rules like boys fringe must be above the eye brows have been something which students hate because most students in schools like to keep their fringe very long. I myself also hate but rules are rules. School rules have been set for a reason, to prevent students from doing something illegal or bad. Examples are no fighting, molesting, scolding vulgarities and smoking in school. I totally agree with this rules but I do not agree with some. Examples are, boy’s hair should be short and tidy at all times. I think that school rules as its bad and good points too. The good points are, it will prevent the students from going astray and hang out with bad companies. The bad points are, some rules have made students dislike schools. For me, I also think that some rules are a bit unreasonable but most are rules are set reasonably. In my opinion, teachers should explain why some rules that are unreasonable like boys hairs should cut short so that we know why it is set. Other than that, all rules that are set is helping us to study hard for the future and preventing us to go astray. If school rules are set reasonably, I believe that students will like school more and treat it with care when using school facilities. Students will also contribute more to the school if they like the school.

Chinese New Year - What it means to me.
What is Chinese New Year? For non-Chinese people, they will feel that it is more like a holiday event. Chinese New Year is actually something celebrated by all Chinese during Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year does not mean holiday to me only but also a reunion event. During Chinese New Year, relatives will meet up and have dinner together. Chinese New Year is a yearly occasion like Hari Raya and Deepavali. Therefore during Chinese New Year, it is like a birthday to me as I get to do what I want most of the times. Chinese New Year has also pros and cons to me. The pros are, I get to have more money as I will be going to relatives house and collect ‘Hong Bao’ which is a red packet packed with money inside. I will also get to eat at places where I don’t get to eat often at with my relatives and families. I will also meet up with cousins and other relatives which I do not know too well. During Chinese New Year, we will all be happy celebrating as a family. The cons are, we will be missing lessons thus, and we will need to be more focused when we get back to school. We might also see relatives which we hate a lot.
In my opinion, Chinese New Year can be a fun event depending on how u spent the days. During Chinese New Year, I will be mostly going to watch movies or going out. It is quite fun during Chinese New Year but good things always end fast. Chinese New Year lasted about a month but we always celebrated during the first four to five days only. This is what Chinese New Year meant to me but for others, it might be different. I will stop for now.

Is technology a threat or a promise?
People have been wondering if technology will be a threat or a promise in the near future. AI gore and other environmentalists have shown us the importance of preventing climate change in a documentary called ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. Actually technology can be a threat or a promise depending on how we use it. If we use it for bad causes like deforestation, it is a threat to us but if we use it for good causes like creating better medicines, it is a promise to us. There are pros and cons in technology. The pros are, better medicines are created to improve our health and living conditions, automobiles are created for us to reduce the burden of walking from places to places and lastly, air-conditioner are also created to help us sleep better at night. It also helps to relieve our burden as we can find information we need easily on the internet. The cons are, even though automobiles do help us but it also harms us as well because carbon monoxide are released from the car into the air causing air pollution and machines are use to cut tons of trees per day, causing global warming as carbon dioxide are not taken in by the trees to make. Air conditioners are also depleting natural resources as coal is needed to produce electricity even though air-conditioner helped us to sleep better at night. In my opinion, technology have help us and harm us at the same time. The only way to prevent this from happening is to find a permanent solution or create a technology where it will help us and not harm the environment. Frankly speaking for me, technology is more of a promise than threat to me as it helps me more than it harms me. For environmentalists and governments, technology might be more of a threat than promise to them. That's what I think it might be.

Does internet cause more harm than good?
What is internet? Internet is a wireless network, that i use all over the world. There are advantages and disadvantage of internet.
The advantages of internet are: 'First, we can find information from website which will make our work burden lighten. Second, We are able to chat with friends online using the program called MSN or some other programs which can be download from the internet. Lastly, we are able to surf the internet to listen to song and play online games to reduce stress. Some examples are, doing powerpoint, searching for information and watching videos online.
The disadvantages of internet are: 'First, people will surf pornography website which is illegal.Second, people might lure girls from the internet, and then eventually con them. Lastly, people can illegally download songs or videos from the internet, which is obviously unwanted by the government because of the policy of piracy. Some examples are, burning original CDs to pirated CDs, downloading R21 movies and images and try all ways and means to make whatever they want and wish to be realistic.
However, if you have self-restrain or family members at home, it will be hard for you to surf illegal website or download illegal movies. You will also get bored of surfing the same old things over and over again. Therefore, you should put your mind at ease, that internet will not harm us. Burning CDs is alright as long as you do not sell or distribute them, because it is not against the law to burn but against the law to sell. Therefore the disadvantages of internet can be prevented easily.
In my opinion, the internet cause more good than harm because if the internet is banned, many people will be sad as they cannot use the internet to listen to song or play online games to reduce stress. Therefore, I strongly agree that internet is causing good instead of harm.
